Case:
A leading Construction Management firm is coming to the end of a 2 year contract for connectivity and Internet access at all three locations. Because the company transfers a lot of data, they needed high Internet speed.

Their current contract included 100M Internet connections at each site with private connectivity between them for a total combines Monthly Recurring Charge of roughly $7.000, a total of $87,000 per year.

Risk:
Had the company not realized the contracts were coming up for expiration, they would have automatically renewed and they would have been locked into another year, and another $87,000.

Outcome:
Because they were managed on our Contract Management service, we already had been researching other options. They were contacted three months before the contract expiration with quotes from three other vendors. The best quote was from a very reputable vendor and brought their monthly rate down to just over $2,000 which saves them over $120,000 over the same 2 year span.

Case:
A city Emergency Services provider moving a high availability site to a new location. The customer provides emergency services and needs to maintain service 24×7 with no interruption. They had a solid move date and a consulting firm managing the deployment of the new services. The project was running over budget and way behind schedule

Risk:
Had the project not been able to complete in time, services would not be available when the customer moved. This would mean that emergency services would not be fulfilled resulting in lawsuits and Government inquiries.

Outcome:
We were called in to take over project management on the case. Upon initial audit we found that the staff members sent by the consulting firm were inexperienced for the job causing multiple hours to be spent on trial and error pushing the case over budget. Furthermore, many technical errors were made in the configuration which would not have resulted in a finished project. The audit was done with a Sr Executive from the consulting company that did the work so they could see the result first hand.

Being too late to find another consulting company, we took over the final configuration ourselves and completed the project in half the time which ended in success. The project budget was back on track and the client ended up moving one day ahead of schedule.
